Guitar Smith Online® ("GSO") values your (the "User") business and considers the confidentiality and security of personal information to be of utmost importance. When User of GSO's site, located at www.guitarsmithonline.com (the "Site"), voluntarily submits personal information during the enrollment and membership process, GSO must use that information in compliance with the Privacy Policy and Terms of Use Agreement of GSO, both of which are available on the Site.
GSO requests and collects personally identifiable User information during the voluntary enrollment and membership process. If User does not wish to voluntarily provide such information, User should not proceed with the enrollment and membership process, and should not continue using the Site. User is responsible for reviewing the terms and/or conditions of any and all affiliated third party sites of GSO, including, but not limited to, the web host and payment gateway. GSO automatically receives and records the User's computer and browser information, such as his/her IP address, cookie information, and computer hardware. Any and all activities, including correspondence documents, occurring on the Site or other sites owned by GSO, or sent to GSO by User, may be stored within User's account file.
In addition to personal information, GSO reserves the right to store and/or use non-personal information about User. Such information may include a) the web page the User visited before and after using the Site or other GSO-owned sites, b) information regarding the User's Internet browser and operating system, and c) the User's IP address. GSO uses IP addresses primarily for system administration and improvement purposes, but also to obtain aggregate data regarding any and all Users' preferences while using the Site and its contents, materials, and services ("CMS"). User’s IP address may also be used to help diagnose server issues that GSO may be experiencing, as well as to identify a User who is or may be in violation of the Terms of Use Agreement or Privacy Policy.
GSO may also use personal and non-personal information for purposes such as improving the Site's architecture and CMS, marketing and advertising efforts, and conducting research.
When an interested User is under the age of 18, GSO requires the User's parent or legal guardian to create an account for him/her. Parent or legal guardian permission to use the Site and the Site's CMS is required.
GSO will not contact a User who is under the age of 18, about special offers, promotions, or marketing efforts. Such communications will be delivered via email to the parent’s or legal guardian’s email account that is entered and submitted during the enrollment and membership process.
GSO will not make available or disclose User information to non-affiliated GSO third parties without prior User consent unless a) it is deemed necessary for the purpose of investigating or taking action with regards to illegal or suspected illegal activities, violation or suspected violation of GSO's Terms of Use Agreement or Privacy Policy, or as required by law; or b) if GSO is acquired by or merged with another company.
GSO reserves the right to share User information with third party service providers, such as credit card processors, attorneys, and contractors, to name a few, in order to support the Site and the Site's operations. Third party service providers agree to use the information only for the intended purpose. All information provided must be destroyed properly so as to protect all Users' personal and non-personal information, or must be returned to GSO after the task requiring such information has been completed.
GSO reserves the right to disclose aggregate information regarding GSO Users to third parties without Users' consent.
GSO may create, set, and access cookies on a User's computer for various reasons, e.g., to distinguish between members and non-members. Advertisers using space on GSO's Site or other sites owned by GSO may set and access their own cookies on User's computer as well. Advertisers' use of the cookies they create are subject to their own terms, conditions, and privacy policies. Third party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to the Site or other sites owned by GSO. Google's use of the DART cookie enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to the Site and/or other sites on the Internet. GSO reserves the right to contact User with information regarding GSO's Site services. This may come in the form of administrative emails, service announcements, or other communication methods. GSO reserves the right to not provide User with the option to opt out of receiving such messages or communications.
The Site and other sites owned by GSO may, now or in the future, contain advertisements for or links to other sites. GSO is not responsible, and shall not be held liable, for the content, materials, services, privacy practices, or otherwise, of advertisers, third parties, or other links.
No one or business can guarantee 100% online or offline security; however, data security is one of GSO's main priorities, and GSO is committed to protecting User's information to the fullest extent possible.
Access to User's personal information is strictly limited to those who need the information to provide GSO services and/or to perform their jobs.
GSO reserves the right to change, edit, or improve this policy, the Site, the Site's CMS, and other sites owned by GSO, at any time without notice. GSO also reserves the right to terminate the Site, the Site's CMS, and other GSO-owned sites at any time, for any reason, without notice to User. The posted version of the Privacy Policy is the most current, and shall remain in full effect until the need arises for it to be revised, and therefore, replaced.
By using GSO’s Site, the Site CMS, and other sites owned by GSO, User consents to GSO’s use, management, disclosure, or otherwise, of his/her information as described in this notice.
